Sam Houston dominates HBU 42-20


Well Sam Houston may not win the Southland confrence this season, but they were able to win their season finale against Houston Baptist University today.

Despite out gaining the Bearkats in total offensive yards and having almost 300 rushing yards, HBU was only able to score 20 points.  For most of the game, the Bearkats were in control. The game started off with a 9 yard rushing TD from their QB. HBU was able to score a FG to keep the game close, but then the Bearkats began to takeover. The Bearkats scored 14 points in 3 minutes, the first TD being a 2-yard rush and the second TD being a 11-yard pick-6.

HBU had success running the ball, but was never able to capitalize with TDs. Turnovers really killed the Huskies this game with 4 in total. By halftime, the score was 28-10 Bearkats.

In the 3rd quarter, HBU was able to go down the field on SHSU, only to be stopped on a 4th and 1. In two plays, Sam Houston scored on a 50 yard TD pass, followed by a 56 yard TD pass later on in the game. The huskies were able to score just 10 points in the 2nd half, and Sam Houston cruised through the 4th Quarter.

Sam Houston finished the season 6-5, while the Huskies finished the season 1-10.
