Week 5: Falcons (1-3) vs Texans (2-2)
Last Meeting: October 4th, 2015 in Atlanta, Georgia (Falcons def. Texans 48-21)
The Texans have another game today. This is a chance to redeem themselves after suffering an embarrassing loss last Sunday vs. the Panthers.
This isn’t only a big game for the Texans, but a big one for the Falcons too. As you may or may not realize, the Falcons are making their first return to NRG stadium since their devastating Super Bowl loss against the Patriots. I expect the Falcons to be emotional today.
The Falcons present a bigger challenge than the Panthers, especially on offense. Talent such as Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley, Devonta Foreman, and Mohammed Sanu. While they may be 1-3, this is not a game that the Texans cannot take lightly like they did the Panthers.
With that being said, this game can go two ways:
1. The Falcons dominate as the Texans continue their home struggles.
In the past 3 home games, the Texans are 1-2, scoring an average of 10 points per contest. Today’s home game could show the same, and the Texans offense could continue to struggle. If that is the case, the Falcons offense finally picks up their groove and the offense has a field day in their return to the crime scene in Houston. The Falcons could put up over 24 points and beat the Texans in dominating fashion.
2. The Texans learn from last week and take care of business.
Feeling embarrassed that they let a game slip from them, the Texans don’t make that same mistake twice. They know that they are a better team than the Falcons, and act like it. While the Falcons give the Texans a fight, the Texans handle the Falcons and go 3-2.
This game should feature over 40 points. The Texans will be on high alert this week and will look to handle business against the Falcons as they get ready for their week 6 clash against the KC Chiefs.
Final Score: Falcons 20 TEXANS 28
