Carolina Panthers: Rhule Reunites With XFL Star, P.J Walker.

NEWS NFL

The Carolina Panthers are signing former XFL standout QB P.J Walker, becoming the first XFL player to sign a contract with an NFL team. Walker, who led the XFL in passing yards(1,338) and TD’s(15) will reunite with first-year head coach Matt Rhule.

During his Temple career, the time Walker spent with Rhule (2013-2016), Walker became the Owls all-time leader in wins by a starting quarterback (28), passing yards, passing touchdowns, completions, attempts, total yards, and total touchdowns. Walker led the Owls to their first conference title in 49 years (2016) and their first-ever back-to-back bowl appearances in school history (2015 and 2016).

In his lone season as the Houston Roughnecks starting QB, Walker led the franchise to a 5-0 record until the season ended due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Walkers received interests from the Seahawks, Broncos, and Cardinals before signing in Carolina.
