Discussion: Where is the best landing spot Cam Newton

The Carolina Panthers announced on Tuesday the release of former No. 1 overall pick and star quarterback, Cam Newton. According to Ian Rapport of NFL Network, the Panthers made their decision to part ways with Newton after failing to find a trade partner for the 2015 league’s Most Valuable Player.

As he enters free agency at age 30, the timing for Newton could not have come at a worse time. He is coming off back-to-back injury-plagued seasons that sidelined him for 18 out of a possible 32 games and entering a market where a job for a starting quarterback is extremely limited.

With few options available for a chance to return to form, share your thoughts in the comment section below on where Newton should play next season.

  1. I would love to see him play for the Chargers and compete with Tyrod for the starting job. They have a lot of offensive weapons and I think he could really succeed there.

    1. Me too. I think the Chargers will be the best landing spot for Newton. LA has a great receiving core, and I think he will be a better fit than Tyrod Taylor. What are your thoughts about him going to New England? They need a QB after Tom Brady left for Tampa Bay.
