After losing to the San Antonio Spurs, the Houston Rockets look to bounce back against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday.
Russell Westbrook made his return to the lineup on Tuesday afternoon in a 123-105 loss to the San Antonio Spurs. He played 27 minutes recording 20 points, six assists, and five rebounds in the loss. In his first start since joining the Houston Rockets, Jeff Green added in 17 points in 31 minutes of play.
On the back half of a back-to-back, the Rockets (44-26) will be without their all-star point guard again due to rest. But Houston is expecting to welcome another important piece to the court during their afternoon match against the Indiana Pacers (43-28) on Wednesday.
Eric Gordon will return from his latest injury against the Pacers, Mike D’Antoni announced following the loss to the Spurs. Gordon has missed all of the Rockets’ seeding game thus far after sustaining a left ankle injury during Houston’s last scrimmage against the Celtics on July 28.
In addition to Gordon, the Rockets will see the return of James Harden and Danuel House Jr. Harden missed Houston’s previous game due to rest, while House dealt with a minor toe injury.
The Pacers come into today’s game following a 114-92 loss to the Miami Heat on Monday. With no post-season implications in play, Indiana maybe without Myles Turner, Malcolm Brogdon, Victor Oladipo — who are all listed as questionable. Bubble MVP T.J. Warren is out for the Pacers against the Rockets.
