NBA plains to resume season following massive boycott on Wednesday.
After boycotting Wednesday’s scheduled playoff games, NBA players have agreed to resume the 2020 playoffs — according to multiple reports. The league is planning to resume its 2020 postseason as soon as this weekend.
The boycott took place as a result of the civil unrest from the police shooting of Jacob Blake — a 29-year-old African American male who was shot multiple times in the back a police officers, Sunday, in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
Since the shooting, Blake is in stable condition but paralyzed from the waist down. Three of his children were in the car when the incident took place. The players’ outrage over Blake’s shooting had many questioning their decision to return to play. According to multiple reports, Lakers’ superstar LeBron James and Clippers’ Kawhi Leonard voted in favor to cancel the season.
After dropping Game 4 on Monday, the Houston Rockets are tied at 2-2 in their first-round series against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
